Color Inspiration for 2009

Enough of the gloom and doom.  We are force fed every day from the news the constant gloom of our economy and we all need something to pick up our spirits.    Nothing can make us feel better than a little color in our lives, and I think in 2009 we need to add color to our everyday living as a way to help us have a brighter outlook on all aspects of life.

My color inspirations for 2009 aren't from a Color Specialist telling all of us what the "hot" new trend for 2009 will be.   No, I want all of us to take a look around us and the beautiful colors of nature.

Take for instance, my recent trip to St. John, the Virgin Islands.  The clear blue tropical waters, the green foliage, the golden, yellow and pink afterglow of a warm sunset would be beautiful accent colors in any home.

And not to be forgotten, the beautiful pinks, reds, yellows and oranges of the flowers.

This spring, once the winter snow has melted and given way to blossoms on the trees and green grass in the yards, take a look around your own outdoor surroundings and see what nature has to offer up for inspiration in your own home.

A floral pillow with a shade of pink to spruce up your sofa.   Or how about  sunny yellow dinner napkins to enliven your table.  If blue is your color, how about a beautiful shade of blue for your bedroom bedding- so calm and relaxing.  Accessorize with objects in shades of green or a pop of orange.

There are many ways to add color to your life.  Just look around your home to see how you can lift its spirits and yours.
