Remembering Tom Gunkelman

Tom Gunkelman, named "Dean of Design" by the Star Tribune passed away on Saturday, May 21st, surrounded by family, friends and staff. We are deeply saddened and will miss him dearly.

His talent was extraordinary for which he won many awards and accolades, such as being named one of the "Top 100 Designers" by House Beautiful magazine for several years in a row and named "Top 50 Designers" by Elements magazine. He also received numerous ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Awards throughout the years including the "ASID Pursuit of Excellence Award" and "Designer of Distinction".

But, it was Tom's love of people, travel, and life in general that also defined who he was. He treated his staff like his family and in return we thought of him as part of our own families as well. Tom enjoyed a party and never missed a celebration. So in return, we celebrate his life.
