Gunkelmans Wins IIDA FAB Award!

IMG_3615

Last evening the IIDA Northland Chapter FAB (Fresh Artistic Brilliant) awards were held to recognize the best in (mostly) commercial design in a variety of categories.   The interiors project for Hazeltine National Golf Course Clubhouse that Gunkelmans designed won 1st Place in the Hospitality division!

Congrats to Tom, Karen and all the staff that worked on this wonderful project!   Below are some images of the Clubhouse.

The new design was intended to give the new Hazeltine Clubhouse a timeless, classic and transitional interior that met all of the members needs, and married the architecture seamlessly.  The use of clean lines and simple details would also allow the views of the historical, world renowned course.

Consciously, the furniture commanded simple lines to draw the view up and out to the course – the true star of the show.  Materials, patterns and textures which are steeped in tradition were uses in unexpected classic and contemporary ways.
