Writing

Many Thanks

Remember when your mother always made you write a thank you note for that gift you got from grandmother?   Even if it was something you considered horrible and wouldn't be caught dead wearing or admitting you now owned.

But with the age of email, Twitter, Facebook and blogs the art of writing a letter or even a quick note has seem to have gone by the wayside.   Sad, but true.   But, on those rare occasions when you receive a handwritten note doesn't it make you feel special, if even just a bit?  Why not make someone feel special and write that handwritten note.   I means you actually took a moment to think of someone and that they are special.

There are several different notecards that can show your personality.   From classic and serious looking to fun and whimsical and everything in between.  Here are a few that we like.

Going Back To Your Roots

One of the most inspirational places for many designers is the past… artists, events and eras. These categories create a collection from which we become inspired to create. Let’s not forget about Mother Nature when we need insight on fresh ideas for spaces. This week is all about roots…

Take it Outside

Remember the days of old when outdoor furniture was thin, easily breakable, and the seats were usually vinyl straps that sagged after sitting in them once?   If you were "lucky" your vinyl was colored – typically in yellow.   I guess it was a way of emphasizing the sunshine.  Possibly.

Thank goodness those days are gone!

Not only does outdoor furniture keep getting better in styles and substance (no more thin bending metal) the fabrics are no longer a choice of white, yellow or green vinyl.   Outdoor fabrics have become chic and lovely.
