Hazeltine National Golf Course – Nearing Completion

Yes, you read that correctly, Hazeltine National Golf Course in Chaska, MN, home to the 2009 PGA Championship and future 2016 Ryder Cup.  Shortly after the 2009 PGA Championship the Club House of old was bulldozed down to make way for the new, beautiful Club House scheduled to be open in September of this year.

We've been busy working away on getting the interiors beautifully designed and perfect.   Here is a sneak peek at where the club stands as of now.

Rugs, Rugs and More Rugs!

It's no secret that a rug can make or break the look of a room.  When we work on our custom designed projects we use sources like WesKuske Showroom for beautiful rugs, carpets and more.

Shown above is the "wall of rugs" – a focal point of of the showroom.  It displays a wide variety of rugs that are new, interesting and tell and color story.   "It's where many designers navigate toward when coming into the showroom" says owner Jackie Cox

"We have many rugs that are available for purchase off the floor in a wide variety of traditional or contemporary and a wide variety of sizes as well" says Jackie.   You can see one of the stacks shown at top.

Adding texture to a room is so important and one way to add texture to a room is by sisal rugs.  Textured rugs are featured in nearly every home publication these days.  They are available in all-natural fibers then bleached and re-dyed into colors and woven into pattern.   These gorgeous textures are available in broadloom or can be bound into custom sized rugs.

If you desire something more graphic and colorful then that option is available as well.   Take for example the red carpet on the left, which is a velvet cut and loop silk rug.   This is made in Italy and can be custom sized and colored to your liking.   The other two rugs are Wilton pieces which are woven like a hook stitch of one continuous yarn.  They are nice, clean geometrics in a low profile – and graphic prints are so hot right now!

Shown above are just a very small sampling of the literally hundreds (and probably thousands) of colors and texture poms that we go through to custom create rugs.

If the graphic patterned rugs aren't for you, then rugs like these handmade rugs offer texture and pattern.   There are low loops and raised cut piles combined to create the interest in texture, patterns and colors.  Rugs like these are handmade and knotted in Nepal.

With so many options available it can be overwhelming.   Just one more reason we rely on the professionals!

Inspirations

Inspiration comes from many places, people and things.    Here are a few things that have interesting pattern, textures and colors.

African Tribal hats.   In addition to the incredible weaving and beautiful colors, don't you just wonder who the person is that made them and what the child is like who wears them?

A original glass window from the historic Young Quinlan Building.   Just image if this window could talk and tell us what it has seen over the last 83 years.

A bowl carved out of tree.   Oh what a gnarly, beautiful piece!
